Changes coming next year in the BCHL

A few things came out of the BCHL Board of Governors meeting earlier today. First off the season will be four games shorter next season going down from 60 to 56 to decrease the number of weekday games.There will be a showcase held from September 7th-9th. Each BCHL team will play two games in the showcase with the site to be determined. The showcase results will count in the regular season standings. The season will start earlier on September 14th and end on March 10th. Ten teams will be in the Coastal Conference next season which will be split into two division. One division named the Island Division will consist of Alberni Valley, Nanaimo, Powell River, Cowichan Valley, and Victoria, where the Mainland Division will have Langley, Surrey, Coquitlam, Prince George and Chilliwack. Prince George will be given the option of switching back to the Interior at the conclusion of the 2013 season. Playoff format is still up for debate.
