17 hours after a dis-heartening loss, the Rivermen will look to turn the ship around against the Bulldogs today. It will be the seventh meeting of the season between these two clubs and the season series has been good. The ‘Dogs have won three out of the five games and the last three match-ups have been particularly have been close. They met last on February 26th and was a game where Langley got out to a 2-0 lead only to have it go to waste as the Bulldogs won it 4-3 in overtime. It marked the second straight time a Rivermen-Bulldogs game needed extra time. The last three contests for the Rivermen have been games to forget to say the least as they have lost in the last few minutes of regulation in three straight. The Bulldogs on the other hand will walk into the LEC with a little bit of swagger after hammering the Victoria Grizzlies 12-2 last night at the dog pound.
In the standings the Bulldogs are beginning to separate themselves from the ‘Men more and more. They now have 44 points to Langley’s 40 and this contest today will be a big one if the Rivermen want to catch the Bulldogs.
It will be the last home game of the season for the Rivermen. They will look to break a six game slide and more importantly give the fans a good show one last time. It will be the fourth game this week for Langley and will be interesting to see if the boys can fight off fatigue. However, it may be advantage Langley right off the hop as the ‘Dogs had their alarm clocks go off early to catch an early ferry to the mainland. It will be a 2 PM face off from the Langley Events Centre and can be heard/seen live fat http://www.bchl.ca.
