GAMEDAY: Rivermen and Bulldogs kick off the showcase

It has been a long 179 days since the Langley Rivermen last hit the ice. Finally the new season has arrived and the Rivermen and Bulldogs will open up the 2012/2013 season at the BCHL Showcase at the Prospera Centre.

As to what to expect this afternoon when the puck drops at 3:30 is anyone’s guess. These two teams have yet to face each other, which means they will be going in blind and will have to make adjustments as the game goes along.
Looking at both rosters, Alberni Valley has 10 players returning for another season, while Langley has 10 returning players(including Reichert) as well. In goal the Rivermen will put in starter James Barr who is ready for a break out-season. As for the Bulldogs they have two new faces in between the pipes in Jay Deo and Brad Rebagliati. It is unsure who will start today, but if I would have to guess I would go with Deo just because he is a 20-year-old and had Junior “A” experience in the AJHL previously.

The game can be watched live at or listen for free at . It is a 3:30 puck drop from rink #2 at Prospera Centre. Pre-game will be at 3:15.
