Riv Thankful for Current Success but Want More

It’s been a well-deserved couple days off for the Riv after extending their current win streak to six games after Saturday’s 3-1 victory over the Surrey Eagles.  Turkey dinners accompanied beautiful fall weather as Langley gives thanks for plenty.

But everyone knows that it’s only mid-October and while a six-game win streak right now is certainly something to be proud of, there’s a very long road ahead this BCHL season.  Lessons can be taken from this current streak though as it’s mostly been hard work that has got the team to first place in the Mainland division.  Not all the wins have been pretty as it’s taken consecutive gritty efforts to get to this point.  The team has battled through some early injuries but others have been stepping up to fill the voids.

After Saturday’s win I spoke briefly with Riv defenceman Chris Forney on how the team has got to this point and what it will take to keep it going.
