If he hasn’t become known around the BCHL for his punishing hits and good finish around the net, Langley Rivermen forward Nathan Craft is definitely recognizable for his incredible facial hair.
The 6’0″, 190 pound forward from Kitimat is already an intimidating presence on the ice but add in the biggest beard in the league and he really can look like a man playing against boys. Whether it’s been helping his offensive production or not, the 19-year old is at a pace to double his point total from last year. With nine goals and three assists in 16 games so far this season, Craft has already more than doubled his rookie season goal production and is on pace for a 40 point year.
He has been able to battle through an early-season injury and when he returned to the line-up after missing several games he didn’t miss a beat.
Craft is certainly a leader on the Rivermen and his work ethic is in line with that of captain Mitch McLain, going full bore every shift. Looking for a breakout season in his second full-year in the BCHL, Craft has got out to a great start and there’s no sign of him slowing down.
