Azurdia Eager for Second Half Success

He’s missed the last five games due to injury but the Langley Rivermen hope to have Austin Azurdia back in the lineup very soon.

The 20-year old has nine goals and 11 assists in 25 games this season, a year that included an eight game point streak in October.  He also announced a re-commitment for College next year as he will now attend the University of Alaska-Anchorage.  It seemed like things were all heading in a good direction, and that’s certainly still the case in what can only be described as a minor speedbump in a long season.  The veteran Azurdia knows this team has what it takes to do something special this season and it’s all about the big picture for a Riv squad that aims to be playing into May.

But since being sidelined in November 22nd’s 3-2 overtime win against Salmon Arm, Azurdia has been aching to get back on the ice, and will hopefully have that chance in the very near future.
