The good news keeps rolling in for the Rivermen as Brock Crossthwaite has announced his commitment to play for the University of Nebraska-Omaha Mavericks this fall.
The Division I scholarship comes just a day after his goaltending partner Lyndon Stanwood announced his commitment to Lake Forest College.
Now the 14th member of the 2013-14 Rivermen to secure his NCAA future, Crossthwaite has been rewarded for what was an excellent season for the 19-year old native of Kanata, Ontario. In 37 games, Crossthwaite posted a 24-9-1 record, second most in league wins, just three shy of the BCHL leader while appearing in nine fewer games. His goals against average was a solid 2.42 and his .913 save percentage was also among the league’s best.
Consistency in net is such a critical part of being successful and Crossthwaite did just that, proving to be a big part of the Riv’s success this season. His strong play continued into the playoffs as well posting two shutouts and a .910 save percentage in 12 games.
As a new member of the Riv this season having played in his home province of Ontario last year, Crossthwaite quickly established himself as one of the BCHL’s best and now can set his sights even higher. Congrats Brock, all the best next season!
